Apps Log You Out When the Launcher Starts
Music or navigation apps lose their login, or offline downloads vanish, each time the box starts? Add a launch delay in your launcher. TBox Ultra, Ambient.

Open your launcher's settings and set its start (launch) delay to at least 1 second; owners who fixed this used 5 to 15 seconds. The launcher's FAQ recommends it, and both owners who reported back said it stopped their sign-outs or lost downloads, though one still saw an occasional sign-out months later.
Symptoms
- Your music or navigation app asks you to sign in again after the box starts
- It happens with a third-party launcher that opens apps automatically, and not when you start them by hand
- Downloaded (offline) music disappears after every restart
- The sign-out comes and goes: fine for a week, then several times in one day

Why it happens
A third-party launcher such as CarCar Launcher starts the moment Android hands over the home screen, and it opens your chosen apps straight away. On these boxes that is also the moment Android is still starting its own services, connecting to the network and mounting storage. Apps launched into that rush can fail to restore their saved session, decide you are signed out, or not find their offline files.
The launcher’s developers explained the contention themselves: at start-up Android’s services and the launcher compete for a slow processor, everything starts more slowly, and a general launch delay lets the system settle first. They also said the sign-out itself comes from the app, not the launcher, which is why a delay reduces it rather than removing it in every case. Owners found the same delay settings helped with other start-up glitches, such as the launcher loading twice.

Add a launch delay in your launcher's settings
- Safe
- Time: 5 minutes
- Worked for 2 of 2 reports
- Recommended in the community FAQ
- Open your launcher’s settings. In CarCar Launcher the start options include a launch delay, a wait-for-network option and an alternative launch mode.
- Set the launch delay (autostart delay) to at least 1 second. Owners who fixed this used between 5 and 15 seconds.
- Reboot the box, or restart the car, and sign in to the affected app once more.
- Use the box for several starts before judging. If the problem still appears now and then, raise the delay a few seconds at a time.
The CarCar Launcher FAQ gives this as the answer when starting the launcher signs you out of your navigation and music accounts: set a launch delay of one second or more. That is a recommendation rather than an owner report, so the count above covers the two owners below. A TBox Ultra 2 owner whose music-streaming app signed out at every start raised the launcher delay and reported no further problems; they later recommended the same setting to others.
A second Ultra owner had a related fault: offline music they had downloaded was deleted after each restart. A 15-second autostart delay in the launcher stopped it.
How long a delay? The FAQ’s minimum is one second. Owners who tuned it for start-up problems settled on 5 to 10 seconds on Ultra 2 units, 15 seconds for the lost downloads, and one Ambient owner runs 25 seconds. Longer delays had one visible side effect for that owner: the custom start-up logo the launcher can show almost never appeared.
Be realistic about the result. The same Ultra 2 owner wrote two months later that sign-outs had become rare but not gone: a week without any, then several in one day, even with wait-for-network enabled. The delay cut the problem down; it did not change what the app does when it loses its session.
Things to try (unverified)
- Set the box’s own start-up delay as well. The 4545 engineering menu has a start-up delay that holds back the whole box until the car’s head unit is ready. Owners set it for detection problems, not sign-outs, but a box that boots after the head unit settles has an easier start. See car doesn’t detect the AI box.
- Turn on the launcher’s wait-for-network option. Suggested by the launcher team for a streaming app that kept signing out; the owner already had it on and still saw occasional sign-outs. Try it together with the delay.
- Check whether power is cut too abruptly. An Ambient owner whose music app signed out after every drive suspected the box loses power the moment the ignition goes off, before the app saves its session. Another owner noted that some TBox Ultra 1 units (256 GB versions) stay on briefly after power is removed, while the Ultra 2 shuts off immediately. Nobody tested this theory. If you suspect it, pause or close the app before switching off and see whether the sign-outs stop.
- Start the app by hand for a few days. If signing in survives when you open the app yourself a minute after start-up, the launcher’s timing is the cause and the delay is the right lever. If it signs out anyway, the problem is in the app or its account.
If nothing works
Write down the box model and firmware date (Settings → About), the launcher and its version, the delay values you tried, the affected app and its version, and how often the sign-out happens. Note whether the box has its own SIM or uses your phone’s hotspot, because a network that arrives late makes start-up timing worse.
Report launcher behaviour to the launcher’s developers, and persistent sign-outs to the app’s own support, since the session is managed by the app. If the launcher itself misbehaves at start-up, check the navigation-bar and default-app settings in stuck on “Loading phone”. If the box restarts by itself during start-up, the cause is more likely power; see AI box keeps rebooting. For choosing a faster box, start here.
