AI Box Fix

About AI Box Fix

An independent, English-language knowledge base of fixes for CarPlay and Android Auto AI boxes.

AI Box Fix exists because the people who know how to fix these boxes mostly write in places English-speaking owners never see. The largest of those is a Russian-language owners’ forum with more than half a million messages since 2023, where problems get diagnosed down to engineering codes, ADB commands and QFIL recovery. Manufacturer help pages, by comparison, tend to stop at “try another cable”.

Who runs it

The site is run by an automation engineer based in Vietnam as an editorial project. It is not affiliated with Carlinkit, Ottocast, MGears, ApplePie, Ownice, Wizcar or any other manufacturer, and brand names are used only to say which devices a fix applies to.

Where the fixes come from

Each article is compiled from community reports: threads where an owner described a problem, others suggested fixes, and someone came back to say what worked. Those reports are cross-checked against manufacturer documentation and support pages, rewritten in plain English, and adapted for readers outside Russia (for example, Yandex apps become “your navigation app”, and Russian carrier advice becomes general SIM guidance).

What “verified” means here

We do not own every box and we do not test every fix on our own hardware. “Verified” on this site means confirmed by community reports: at least one owner said the fix worked on their unit. Every article shows how many reports confirmed it, which devices and firmware dates they came from, and when the article was last reviewed against new reports. Fixes nobody has confirmed yet are kept in a separate “Things to try (unverified)” section.

The full process is on How we verify.

What we will never do

  • Host or mirror firmware, APKs, boot images, reset files or modified ROMs. We link only to manufacturers’ own download pages.
  • Publish usernames, phone numbers or personal contact details from community threads.
  • Invent success rates. A number on this site is a count of reports, nothing more.

Found a mistake?

If a fix did not work for you, or worked on a device we have not listed, tell us. Reports are how articles get re-ranked.
